Dedicated to Your Wellness
The nutrition department provides both inpatient and outpatient services across all LifeBridge Health facilities and is composed of registered dietitians who are licensed by the state of Maryland. Many of our registered dietitians have attained advanced certifications specializing in areas such as nutrition support, public health and diabetes.
What is a registered dietitian?
Registered dietitians (RD) are experts in the field of nutrition who hold degrees from accredited universities in nutrition sciences, dietetics, public health and other related fields. They must complete an internship through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, pass a national board exam and complete continuing education opportunities in order to maintain their license. All registered dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are registered dietitians. It is important to seek nutrition advice from trusted resources with accredited backgrounds who perform evidenced-based practices.
What can nutrition services do for you?
Our registered dietitians are trained to help incorporate and translate the complex science of nutrition into practical terms that can be applied to your everyday life to obtain and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Through medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling, we work with each patient and individual to provide the proper nutrition-related care for their own unique goals and health concerns.
