Sinai Hospital is home to the world-renowned Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopaedics, offering residents uniquely immersive access to an acclaimed and highly innovative orthopaedic environment.

The Sinai Difference: Leaders Learn Here

At Sinai, you’ll have a structured Orthobullets program for daily reading curriculum and case presentation support. But that’s only the beginning. Here’s how we prepare you for industry-leading success:

Smaller Faculty: Resident Ratio

With only 2-3 new residents per year, our program gives you a level of individualized teaching and mentoring you won’t find anywhere else.

Diverse Patient Population

As Maryland’s largest community teaching hospital, Sinai offers you unparalleled diversity in urban, suburban and rural patient demographics.

Immediate Hands-On Learning

Regular operating room cases and monthly cadaver labs allow you to sharpen your skills and build your confidence faster.

Sub-Specialty Expertise

Our renowned faculty represents all major sub-specialties – from joint preservation to orthopaedic trauma – giving you the most comprehensive understanding of the field.

More Research Opportunities

Help advance the field of orthopaedics alongside our strongly supported research department, featuring three dedicated research coordinators and four research fellows.

Supportive Culture

Our leaders are resident advocates, including all residents in the daily conference through case presentations and lectures.

Current Residents

Through their dedicated efforts and welcoming energy, our current residents embody the values of hard work and camaraderie that new residents need to succeed.

The faculty is so invested in us. Nowhere else would you see senior faculty show up at a 6:30 a.m. daily meeting just to teach you. They have very high expectations, but I also know I have a lot of support to help me meet those expectations.

Meet the Team

Our top-tier team of orthopaedic experts help exemplify the values of our program and the goals of our residents, always leading by example.

In keeping with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s goals and ACGME requirements, at the end of five years of training in our program, a resident is expected to be able to competently practice orthopaedics independently and be a caring orthopaedic surgeon with the highest standards of professionalism.
