U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Sinai Hospital as One of Maryland's Top Hospitals

Exterior entrance to Sinai HospitalBaltimore, MD - U.S. News & World Report once again recognized Sinai Hospital of Baltimore as one of the state's top hospitals, tied for number three in both Maryland and the Baltimore region. In the magazine's ratings of individual specialty areas, Sinai Hospital also rated has "high performing" in neurology/neurosurgery and geriatrics.

The magazine also rates hospitals on "common adult procedures and conditions." In these categories, Sinai Hospital rated as "high performing" in five areas: aortic valve surgery, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). Now in its 28th year, the U.S. News Best Hospitals ranking uses a complex methodology to evaluate the hospitals, looking at measures ranging from patient safety to nurse staffing and more. According to the magazine, "the analysis of hospitals includes data from nearly 5,000 centers across multiple clinical specialties, procedures and conditions."
