Traditional Passover Seder to be Held at Levindale
What: Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital is holding a seder for residents and their families to begin this year's observance of Passover, which lasts for eight days.
When: Today, Friday, April 19, 2019
3:30 p.m.
Where: Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital
2434 West Belvedere Avenue
Why: Levindale has a tradition of bringing families together to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Passover, which retells the exodus of the Israelites from bondage in Egypt more than 3,000 years ago.
In addition to reciting the Passover story, traditional food (including matzah) will be served. Songs will also be sung. Rabbi Jeffrey Orkin will lead the seder with the baseball song, "Take Me Out To The Seder." J Staff and volunteers will make sure our residents and their families enjoy their holiday.
