Todd Herring receives Carroll Hospital Foundation's Community SPIRIT Award

News

Todd Herring, P.T., marketing director of PIVOT Physical Therapy, recently received the Community SPIRIT Award during the Carroll Hospital Foundation's Founders Circle dinner at Antrim 1844 on June 15.

The Community SPIRIT Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated ongoing dedication to improving the quality of life and health of people in the Carroll County community and surrounding areas. The recipient also exemplifies the hospital's SPIRIT values (service, performance, innovation, respect, integrity and teamwork).

A native of Carroll County, Herring has been a strong supporter of Carroll Hospital for nearly four decades. He currently serves as a member of the Carroll Hospital Board of Directors and Carroll Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees, and he is the chair of the BridgingLife Board of Trustees.

Herring has played a pivotal role in shaping many of the programs and services offered at Carroll Hospital.  As one of the hospital's first sports medicine providers and first chronic pain services providers, he helped create Carroll County Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation and the Carroll County Center for Pain Management & Rehabilitation, two joint ventures that expanded these specialties in the community.

He also helped the hospital to provide essential lymphedema and treatment services and partnered with The Women's Place (now the Tevis Center for Wellness) to form the EMBRACE program for breast cancer survivors.

Additionally, Herring has been active on several boards and committees throughout the community including the Taneytown Chamber of Commerce, Carroll County Economic Development Commission, Carroll County Community College, Carroll County Public Schools, Carroll County Public Library, Carroll County Family YMCA and Target Community and Educational Services boards.

Herring enjoys spending time with his wife, Donna, and has four daughters and three grandchildren.

Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health center, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
