Sinai Hospital of Baltimore Names Linda Kosnik as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services

Baltimore, MD - After serving as interim chief nursing officer (CNO) for four months at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Linda Kosnik, R.N., MSN, Ph.D.-d, has been selected to fill the position permanently. Ms. Kosnik will also serve as vice president of patient care services.

"We launched a nationwide search for a new chief nursing officer, however we knew very quickly that Linda was the perfect person for the job," says Jonathan Ringo, M.D., president and chief operating officer of Sinai Hospital and senior vice president at LifeBridge Health.

Among her many and varied responsibilities, Linda is especially involved with recruiting and retaining nurses, implementing best practices, and building upon existing initiatives as well as developing new ones.

Ms. Kosnik has more than 25 years of experience in health care focusing on clinical and operational performance. This includes 10 years as the chief nurse executive at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey, and a combined 10 years in consulting leadership at PwC and Navigant Consulting, Inc. She also led patient flow and operational improvement as a fellow with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

She has lectured nationally and internationally and has published extensively on operational and clinical leadership, change management, collaboration, patient flow, quality improvement and performance management as they apply to health care.

Ms. Kosnik earned her nursing degree from Columbia University and her Master's degree as an advanced practice nurse practitioner from Seton Hall University, where she has completed all but her dissertation as a doctoral candidate in the Health Sciences Leadership Program.
