Northwest Hospital Announces Appointment of Ann Marie Madden as Chief Nursing Officer

Randallstown, MD— Northwest Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Ann Marie Madden, R.N., DNP, as chief nursing officer (CNO) and vice president of Patient Care for Northwest Hospital, effective Monday, February 27. 

Ms. Madden has more than 30 years of experience as a nurse and nurse executive, including experience in critical care, cardiovascular medicine, emergency services, medical-surgical services, pediatrics and operating room operations for large multi-site health systems, community hospitals and tertiary care teaching centers. In addition to her significant contributions to nursing practice, she brings an abundance of expertise in LEAN methodology, High Reliability Organization (HRO), 
TeamSTEPPS principles, and Just Culture applications.

Before joining the Northwest team, Madden served as chief nursing officer for CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline and Memorial Hospitals and Chief Nursing Executive for CHRISTUS Spohn Health System in Corpus Christi, Texas.

As a former Maryland resident, Madden held nursing leadership roles in regional health systems, including Inova Fairfax and more than 20 years at MedStar Health.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York, a master’s degree in nursing from Pace University in New York, and her doctorate, magna cum laude, from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. 

Her credentials also include Acute/Critical Care Knowledge (CCRN-K) and Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC).
