New Leadership and a New Direction for the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute at LifeBridge Health
Baltimore, MD - LifeBridge Health announces a realignment of leadership at the prestigious Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute to focus on growth, innovation and exciting opportunities that will strengthen an already comprehensive, cutting-edge program for the future. This new era launches with the ideal team of a highly respected leader from LifeBridge Health and a highly regarded director in the cancer field.
A nationwide search confirmed what LifeBridge Health leaders already knew; Jeanette Linder, M.D., the interim medical director of the Lapidus Cancer Institute, is the best candidate to be the permanent medical director. 
"Dr. Linder's medical background in radiation and oncology is superior. However, that was only part of the equation," says Brian M. White, executive vice president of LifeBridge Health. "Her passion for patients and the genuine engagement she inspires in her team to provide first-rate care make her the medical director we need now and in the future."
Dr. Linder has strong roots in Baltimore. She worked at Sinai Hospital for five years beginning in 1995 when she established the multi-disciplinary clinics to treat the whole patient. She also introduced high-dose rate brachytherapy and multiple other advanced procedures while spearheading conferences in thoracic and soft tissue sarcomas.
Leaving for a time, Dr. Linder came back to LifeBridge Health in 2009 as the chief of the Weinman Family Department of Radiation Oncology at Sinai Hospital and then expanded her role to oversee both Sinai and Northwest hospitals. While still serving as chief, she stepped in as the interim medical director of the renowned Lapidus Cancer Institute last year.
In addition to her other responsibilities, Dr. Linder is currently the vice president of the medical staff and a member of American Society of Radiation Oncology.
Dr. Linder attended medical school at the University of Maryland and fulfilled her internship at Mercy Hospital of Baltimore going on to complete her residency and fellowship in radiation oncology at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
To work closely with Dr. Linder on clinical programs, patient experience and administrative duties, LifeBridge Health is pleased to welcome Joanne McAuliffe as the executive director of the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute. She will arrive in March.
McAuliffe joins LifeBridge Health from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she served as the vice president of cancer nursing at the Winship Cancer Institute. Previously, she was the chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services, acute care and oncology at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. McAuliffe graduated from Johns Hopkins University as a doctor of nursing practice and brings 30 years of clinical and administrative expertise in numerous roles to the Lapidus Cancer Institute.
