Melanie Ryan, R.N., named Carroll Hospital's 2022 Nurse of the Year
Registered nurse Melanie Ryan, Family Birthplace, was named Carroll Hospital's 2022 Nurse of the Year.
A nurse at the hospital for 29 years, Ryan was recognized for her skilled and compassionate care for patients and for consistently going above and beyond to help her coworkers.
"Melanie has all the qualities of an outstanding nurse. She has an incredible work ethic, provides the highest quality patient care, is a role model to her team and always looks for ways to make things better for others," says Leigh Chapman, associate chief nursing officer at Carroll Hospital.
According to one nominator, Ryan has received countless compliments and thank-yous from patients for taking the time to educate them on caring for their newborn babies.
"It's always difficult to choose only one nurse for this award because we consider all of our nurses to be the best of the best in providing high quality care," says Stephanie Reid, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Carroll Hospital. "However, Melanie's resilience and dedication to patients and her team raised the bar, making her very deserving of this award."
"I am very honored and humbled to be named Nurse of the Year," says Ryan of receiving the award. "We have so many amazing nurses at Carroll, and we all want our patients to have the best experience they can with the best outcomes."
Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health Center, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
