Maryland Governor Larry Hogan Celebrates Skilled Nursing Care Week with Residents, Patients and Staff at Levindale
Governor to recognize and thank team members for compassion, caring and perseverance through the COVID-19 pandemic
What:
Governor Larry Hogan will visit residents, patients and staff at Levindale in recognition of National Skilled Nursing Care Week (also known as National Nursing Home Week). The Governor will first present a citation and hand out gifts to residents gathered in Levindale's Town Center. He will then meet with staff to thank them for their service and hear about their experiences now and in the early days of the pandemic. The residents and staff are creating a welcome banner, and a group of Levindale residents in a drum circle will perform for the Governor. Following the gathering in the Town Center, the Governor will then take a private tour to meet some the patients and staff on the hospital units.

Along with National Skilled Nursing Week (May 8 "“ 14), the Governor's visit coincides with Nurses Week (May 6-12) and Hospital Week (May 8 "“ 14) "“ so there is much to celebrate!
Levindale is a unique facility that offers several types of care, including a long-term residential facility, sub-acute rehabilitation and a specialty hospital, which includes a high-intensity care unit and a nationally accredited in-patient acute rehab unit. Levindale is a 330-licensed-bed facility offering complex medical care to help patients regain function and vitality after a life-altering illness or injury.
