LifeBridge Health's Brian White Named "Innovator of the Year"
Baltimore, MD - Brian White, president of Northwest Hospital and senior vice president of LifeBridge Health, has been chosen as an "Innovator of the Year" by The Daily Record newspaper. White received this award for the creation of Post-Acute Physician Partners (PAPP), a new venture designed to coordinate care between hospitals and nursing homes.
"I am honored to be accepting this award on behalf of PAPP and LifeBridge Health. And, I am even more proud that our idea has developed into an organization that is now truly benefitting patients and their families," says White.
He adds, "As the president of an acute care hospital, as well as the senior vice president of LifeBridge Health's post-acute division, I had the unique opportunity to see the issues facing our frailest patients from both sides, and recognized that there are all-to-common issues during the transition of care from the hospital to the nursing home. In looking for ways to improve the care of our patients, the idea of Post-Acute Physician Partners was born."
The Daily Record created Innovator of the Year awards in 2002 to recognize Marylanders and Maryland-based companies for their innovative spirit"”for creating new products, new programs, new services or new processes that have helped their companies, industries or communities. Nominations were judged on four basic criteria: originality, impact, challenge and value.
"Innovators are on the cutting edge and make real change happen. Their innovations are integral to our lives, whether they are in health care, education, business, technology and beyond," says Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "The 2015 Innovator of the Year honorees take risks to better our lives and communities, and for that, The Daily Record salutes them."
White and the other Innovator of the Year honorees received their awards at a ceremony on October 15 at the Center Club of Baltimore.
