LifeBridge Health Is Thrilled to Announce Marc Cohen and Martin K.P. Hill Are the 2020 Magic of Life Gala Co-Chairs

Baltimore, MD. - LifeBridge Health is elated to share the news that Martin K.P. Hill, president of Woodhaven Building and Development, Inc., and Marc Cohen, vice president of Priority 1 Automotive Group, Inc., are the co-chairs of the 2020 Magic of Life Gala. This biennial event will be held Saturday, April 4 at  the  Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center to benefit patients, programs, projects and services at LifeBridge Health's five hospitals.
 
"I am honored to speak on behalf of the more than one-million patients and their families who depend on LifeBridge Health centers every year for their healthcare, as well as our 13-thousand employees who provide medical and emotional care. I want to thank Marc and Martin from the bottom of my heart for their leadership, dedication and philanthropic efforts," says Neil Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health. "Chairing the gala is a monumental undertaking with its benefits reaching across Maryland."

Mr. Hill currently serves on the Carroll Hospital Board of Directors, is vice chair of the Carroll Hospital Governance Committee and is a member of the Carroll Hospital Capital Fund Committee. In addition, Mr. Hill is the secretary of the LifeBridge Health Board of Directors through July of this year. His term began in July of 2016. Mr. Hill continues to be a member of the LifeBridge Health Budget & Finance and the LifeBridge Health Executive committees. He still serves on the Board of McDaniel College and in past years on other non-profit boards. 

Mr. Cohen is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital and is on the LifeBridge Health Planning Committee. He also serves on the board of Jemicy School and has previously served on the boards of The Dyslexia Tutoring Program, the Alumni Board for the McDonogh School and on the Board of Governors for The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore. In addition, Mr. Cohen is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and was selected as a "2010 Smart100 CEO" for his "leadership, vision and strategic character."

Entertainment for the Gala is being called "A Special Performance Featuring Martin Short & Special Guest, Paul Shaffer." The comedian/actor and musician/actor both have been performing for audiences for generations. 

Some know Short for memorable characters on Saturday Night Live, including Ed Grimley, as well as for other television appearances including one in "Hairspray Live!" based in Baltimore. He also has many film and theater credits. Among them are his appearances in "Three Amigos" and "Father of the Bride." Short has also written a memoir, "I Must Say: My Life as a Humble Comedy Legend."

Among the numerous musical, stage, screen and television credits of Paul Shaffer, he is probably best known as David Letterman's musical director for 33 years. He also played in the band on Saturday Night Live and still serves as the musical director and producer of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies. He is a talented musician and composer working with everyone from Diana Ross to Paul McCartney to "˜N Sync.
