LifeBridge Health CEO Neil Meltzer Honored for Numerous Contributions to Enhancing Healthcare and Improving Life in Central Maryland as he is Inducted into the 2020 Class of the Baltimore Sun Business & Civic Hall of Fame
LifeBridge Health President and CEO, Neil Meltzer, was honored on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Baltimore Sun's Annual Business & Civic Hall of Fame ceremony.
Neil was honored for his decades of leadership at LifeBridge Health, working to maximize the positive impact the health system has on the quality of life for people living throughout central Maryland and beyond. Under Neil's leadership, LifeBridge Health has evolved into one of the largest health systems in Maryland, offering a full continuum of care. LifeBridge Health serves more than 300,000 patients each year from every Maryland county and from more than 60 countries around the world.
While the growth and advancement at LifeBridge Health with Neil at the helm has been impressive, the organization remains committed to and focused on providing critical resources to underserved segments of the community at a time when many neighborhoods and populations throughout the Baltimore metro area face significant challenges. Most recently, Neil led the team at LifeBridge Health in bringing Grace Medical Center (formerly Bons Secours Hospital) into the system. This bold move is bringing revitalization and much needed healthcare services, including pediatrics and OB-GYN specialists into southwest Baltimore.
Outside of his work with LifeBridge Health, Neil was recognized for his commitment to various nonprofit groups on both a local and national level. Most notably, Neil served as the national chairman of the American Heart Association. He also serves on the boards of the Greater Baltimore Committee, the Maryland Hospital Association, Notre Dame of Maryland University, the Hippodrome Foundation and Everyman Theatre.
Meltzer was one of 13 honorees inducted into the Hall of Fame's 2020 class at the event held at the Center Club in Downtown Baltimore, but attended virtually by both honorees and their supporters.
The Baltimore Sun Business & Civic Hall of Fame recognizes leaders who have spent their careers transforming and improving life in central Maryland.
Nominations for the Hall of Fame award were solicited from Baltimore Sun readers and winners were selected by a committee consisting of the Baltimore Sun's editorial board, as well as Baltimore's most prominent leaders.
