LifeBridge Health Announces New OB/GYN Services for Grace Medical Center
Baltimore -July 6, 2020 LifeBridge Health is expanding care at Grace Medical Center with OB/GYN services at the West Baltimore hospital. Elizabeth Zadzielski, M.D. now provides OB/GYN preventive care, screenings and pregnancy care at the hospital located on West Baltimore Street. Dr. Zadzielski is the chief of obstetrics and gynecology at Sinai Hospital, the flagship hospital for the LifeBridge Health system.
Grace Medical Center, formerly Bon Secours Baltimore Hospital, joined LifeBridge Health on November 1, 2019. The health system is committed to bring additional specialties and services to the West Baltimore community, as well as renovating the 100-year-old facility.
"Along with upgrades and renovations to the facility itself, we are excited to bring new service lines to Grace Medical Center. As we bring this new plan to life, it seems that OB/GYN will be the first service that we are adding," says Daniel Blum, president of Grace Medical Center and Sinai Hospital.
Before the acquisition, LifeBridge Health reached out to people in the community for their input on what type of care they would like to see expanded at the hospital. Over and over, community members expressed the need for OB/GYN services.
Dr. Zadzielski says, "The patients have been very welcoming. Many have expressed they appreciate the convenience of having an OB/GYN physician providing care right here in the neighborhood."
Rebecca Altman, vice president at Grace Medical Center and LifeBridge Health's chief integration officer, oversees the day-to-day operations at the hospital. She says, "This is the first of several new service lines planned for Grace. We are listening to community members to hear firsthand what their needs are and will respond to those needs, by adding programs and services to fill the gaps in care."
While offering pregnancy care and support, babies will not be delivered at Grace. Expectant mothers under Dr. Zadzielski's care will deliver their babies at Sinai.
Now that Grace is part of the LifeBridge Health family, West Baltimore community members have access to the vast network of physicians and specialists within the LifeBridge Health network.
