LifeBridge Health Announces Laura B. Black and Brian J. Gibbons as Chairs of 2014 Magic of Life Gala

Black and GibbonsBaltimore, MD. - LifeBridge Health is proud to announce that Laura B. Black, president of LCB Ventures, LLC and entrepreneur of B&N Ventures, LLC, and Brian J. Gibbons, chairman and chief executive of Greenberg Gibbons Commercial Corporation are the chairs of the 2014 Magic of Life Gala. This biennial event will be held Saturday, April 5 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
 
"Laura and Brian are the very definition of humanitarians, and LifeBridge Health is indebted to them for their philanthropic endeavors on behalf of our centers," said Neil Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health. "As two people who also devote a great deal of time to the causes they believe in, we are grateful that they have agreed to be co-chairs of this incredible evening."
 
Black is currently a member of the Sinai Hospital Board of Directors and the LifeBridge Health Strategic Planning Committee. She also serves on the on THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore Board of Directors and was a member of the University of Maryland School of Law Board of Visitors.
 
"LifeBridge Health has been there for the births of each of our children, each of our grandchildren and for the myriad of medical procedures that our families have required through the years," said Black. "It is now time for us to give back to LifeBridge Health."
 
Brian Gibbons is also dedicated to community service. He is presently a member of the boards of directors at both Sinai Hospital and Hospice of the Chesapeake. He is also a board trustee of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. and was honored with the Henry A. Rosenberg, Senior Distinguished Citizen Award by the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America.
 
"The LifeBridge Health doctors, nurses and support staff play an integral role in our community, not only by providing medical care to those who need it, but also by promoting active, healthy lifestyles," said Gibbons. "As one of this year's gala chairs, I welcome the opportunity to support all of these compassionate individuals and the programs that they represent."

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer, Jackson Browne, headlines the gala. Browne, whose career spans nearly 50 decades, counts among his numerous hits, "Running on Empty," "The Pretender," and "Doctor My Eyes." He is also recognized for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education.

The 2014 gala is the eighth Magic of Life event since the formation of LifeBridge Health in 1998. Since its inception, this event has had the distinction of being one of the largest one-day nonprofit fundraisers in Baltimore, raising crucial dollars for patient care at Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital.
