LifeBridge Health Announces Hospital Visitor Policy Changes as Part of COVID-19 Response Planning

Baltimore - At LifeBridge Health, protecting our patients, visitors and employees is our responsibility and highest priority.

Given concerns around the spread of the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, we are changing our hospital visitor policy, effective March 11, 2020.

These changes affect Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, Carroll Hospital, Levindale and Grace Medical Center.

Hospital Visitor Policy

• All visitors must check in at a visitor information desk.
• No visitors under age 18 are allowed, unless they are the parent of a child in the hospital.
• Only one adult visitor allowed per patient in all areas of the hospital.
• Visitors may be screened for flu-like symptoms (runny nose, fever and cough) and will not be allowed to visit if symptoms persist
• Visitors with international travel may not visit for 14 days after arrival in the United States

We appreciate that this may be an inconvenience for patients and families. However, we made this decision in the best interest of our patients.

Tents Outside Emergency Departments

Visitors to Sinai, Northwest and Carroll hospitals may notice tents outside the emergency departments at those facilities.

As part of our COVID-19 planning, our teams recognized that, should there be a widespread outbreak of COVID-19, there could be a need for a large area to screen and triage people who may have this new virus.

That is why, out of an abundance of caution, we have taken the proactive measure to set up tents outside the emergency departments at Sinai, Northwest and Carroll hospitals.

While we hope that we will not have need for them, having these tents in place will allow our teams to respond more quickly should the need arise.
