Laura Welty, R.N., receives Carroll Hospital's January DAISY Award
Registered nurse Laura Welty, coordinator of Breast Surgical Services at Herman & Walter Samuelson Breast Care Center at Northwest Hospital, recently received Carroll Hospital's January DAISY Award. The Northwest Hospital breast center is affiliated with the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital. A nurse at the hospital for 23 years, Welty was recognized for helping to connect a patient with a valuable support group to meet her needs.
"Laura did an amazing job in helping this patient. By encouraging the patient to attend a virtual support group the patient was able to find the comfort and emotional support she needed during a difficult time," said Stephanie Reid, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Carroll Hospital.
Carroll Hospital's DAISY Award honors outstanding health care professionals at the hospital. It is given to a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse each month to recognize his or her extraordinary efforts in delivering exceptional patient care.
Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health Center, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and da continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
