Registered nurse Kristi Ridgell, intermediate care unit, (IMC), was presented with Carroll Hospital's June DAISY Award. A nurse at the hospital since 2017, Ridgell was recognized for going above and beyond her duties to follow up with a patient and ensure he received the medical intervention he needed at home.

"By calling and following up with this patient, Kristi's care went beyond the hospital's walls. And her quick thinking allowed the patient to receive the medical intervention and education he needed at home safely without his condition worsening and him having to be transported to the hospital," said Stephanie Reid, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Carroll Hospital.
