Hope for Henry Foundation Brings Superhero Celebration to Kids at the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai
Baltimore, MD - The Hope for Henry Foundation and the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai are proud to announce an exciting new partnership, launching their collaboration with a superhero extravaganza.
Superman, Spiderman, Wonder Woman, Captain America and the Flash are just some of the superheroes who will be swooping in for the Lenny "Batman" Robinson Hope for Henry Program kick-off party on Wednesday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at the 
Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai (2401 W. Belvedere Avenue, Baltimore).
"On behalf of the kids and families at the Samuelson Children's Hospital, we are so grateful to the Hope for Henry Foundation for their extraordinary generosity and dedication," says Aziza Shad, M.D., the Ellen W.P. Wasserman Endowed Chair of the Samuelson Children's Hospital and the director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
"The activities and events provided by the Hope for Henry Foundation give our children and families an opportunity for fun and laughter -- a reminder that they are still kids, not just kids facing serious illness."
The Hope for Henry Foundation hosts innovative programs that entertain, reduce stress and empower children to be active participants in their own care. The foundation sponsors parties and events, and gives kids with cancer and other serious illnesses gifts that are especially chosen with their individualized interests in mind.
In addition, the Hope for Henry Foundation has a child life specialist at Sinai to provide comfort to kids and manage the Hope for Henry programs at the hospital. Child life specialists are health care professionals, with training in childhood development, who work with children and families to support them through the emotional and physical challenges, such as difficult tests and procedures, which often occur during a hospital stay or on-going illness.
"It continues to be my dream to create a lasting legacy of joy, fun and happiness in honor of my son, Henry Strongin Goldberg. He packed in a lot of laughing, dancing and mischief into seven years before a rare disease took his life in 2002," says Laurie Strongin, the founder of the Hope for Henry Foundation, along with Henry's father, Allen. "He inspires me every day to remember the gift of family, friends and love, and to make sure other children and their own families can enjoy them as well."
Sinai is one of several hospitals where Hope for Henry provides programs. There is one unique difference, however, at Sinai. When superhero programs are put together there, Batman will not be part of the festivities in tribute to Lenny Robinson, who played Batman, and attended many of the foundation's events before he died in a car accident.
