Grace Medical Center Partners with Local Churches and West Baltimore Organizations for Community Day
What: The streets outside Grace Medical Center in West Baltimore will be bustling with music, food, kids’ activities, a petting zoo, health screenings and much more as part of the health facility’s annual free Community Day on Saturday, September 14 from 11am – 2pm.
Grace Medical Center hosts Community Day partnership with other local organizations, including its church neighbors, Central Baptist Church and Tabernacle of the Lord, whose members will be hosting cookouts for this year’s event.
Along with family activities such as face painting and a bounce house, attendees can get health screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, lung function and more. There will also be community resources, such as the Department of Health, and a produce giveaway. In addition to a DJ, groups from local churches will also be performing at Community Day.
Some unique offerings this year include local barbers providing haircuts and the new LifeBridge Health “book mobile” with books purchased by LifeBridge Health team members to give out for free to area children.
Community Day is part of the ongoing commitment of Grace Medical Center (a LifeBridge Health facility) to enhance medical services for people in West Baltimore.
Since LifeBridge Health’s 2019 acquisition of Grace Medical Center, the health system has been investing $85 million to transform the facility. Following the renovation of the emergency department and the addition of medical specialties, such as gynecology and ophthalmology, the health system is now in the final phase of the project with construction and renovation of space for behavioral health services.
