Executive Director of the West Baltimore Renaissance Foundation Honored with Baltimore Business Journal "Leaders in Health Care" Award
Baltimore "“ Executive Director of the West Baltimore Renaissance Foundation Kurt Sommer was recently named a "˜Leader in Health Care' by the Baltimore Business Journal for 2022. The awards honor executives who go above and beyond the call of duty, help develop the health care profession regionally and nationally, and make a positive impact on their community.
Sommer was recognized in the Healthcare Executive (non-hospital) category for his work leading LifeBridge Health's efforts to empower West Baltimore residents and communities through the West Baltimore Renaissance Foundation, which was created following the health system's 2019 acquisition of Grace Medical Center (formerly Bon Secours Hospital).
Sommer is leading the foundation in making strategic investments that expand services, amenities and opportunities that make a lasting impact on the health and quality of life of West Baltimore residents. The creation and support of the ongoing efforts of the foundation are one of the key elements of LifeBridge Health's investment in West Baltimore. The foundation has four key areas of community investment: workforce development, mentoring, food access and population health.
Sommer will be recognized along with other honorees at an event in October hosted by the Baltimore Business Journal.
