Drs. Audwin Garcia and Sumit Bhutani named Physicians of the Month at Carroll Hospital
Audwin Garcia, M.D., critical care and emergency medicine physician, and Sumit Bhutani, M.D., infectious disease, were chosen as Carroll Hospital's February and March Physicians of the Month, respectively.
Affiliated with the hospital since 2019, Dr. Garcia was recognized for his expert medical skills and diligence while treating multiple patients as well as his outstanding efforts in communicating with his patients' family members about their loved one's status and medical care.
"Dr. Garcia consistently demonstrates his overwhelming commitment to ensuring his patients receive the highest quality care. He works non-stop to diligently treat his patients; and their family members appreciate his efforts in going the extra mile to call and update them on their loved one's plan of care," said Mark Olszyk, M.D., vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Carroll Hospital.
Dr. Bhutani has been affiliated with the hospital for close to seven years. He was recognized for his exceptional communication skills while talking with a patient's family to ensure they were fully informed and comfortable with their son's plan of care. His colleagues also recognized him for his expertise and knowledge in treating numerous patients who had COVID-19.
"Dr. Bhutani's exceptional patient care skills are to be commended. He is always willing to consult with providers, patients and their family to make certain that they understand the patient's medical care needs and treatment plan," said Mark Olszyk, M.D.
Each month, Carroll Hospital recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as advanced practice providers with a program called Physician/Provider WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive these awards each month, one Physician or Provider of the Month is chosen. And, from a year's worth of Physician or Provider of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year and one Advanced Practice Provider of the Year is selected.
