Dr. Jonathan Thierman, LifeBridge Health Chief Medical Information Officer, Named to the Baltimore Business Journal's Inaugural "Leaders in Healthcare" List

In his role with LifeBridge Health, Dr. Thierman leads a team of physician informaticists to interface between the IT department and all of the affiliated physicians across five hospitals and in community practices on matters of the EMR (electronic medical record), CPOE (compertized physician order entry) and other health IT systems.
Dr. Thierman is passionate about applying technology to improve health and outcomes. He helped to establish the LifeBridge Health Virtual Hospital to provide telemedicine services across the system's full continuum of care. During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Virtual Hospital added a customized tele-triage system to handle an overflow of concerned patients in the system's emergency departments and provider offices. The system utilizes continually updated clinical algorithms to decide which patients should be tested. As of August 2020, more than 25,000 patients had been screened via the tele-triage process, making a real difference in protecting patients and staff on the front lines from exposure to the virus.
Dr. Thierman was one of 15 honorees named to The Baltimore Business Journal's inaugural Leaders in Healthcare list. The award celebrates some of Baltimore's finest doctors, nurses, hospital leaders and other healthcare workers for their profound dedication to helping people.
