Carroll Hospital Awards Team Members for their Exceptional Care

Team members at Carroll Hospital were recently recognized during separate award presentations held during January. Patients and fellow staff members nominated them for their compassionate and exceptional patient care, which exemplifies the hospital's SPIRIT values. 

The award recipients included: 

Respiratory care practitioner Emily Bartgis, R.R.T., who was named January's SuperStar of the Month. A team member for nearly three years, Bartgis was recognized for going above and beyond her duties to assist a patient and co-workers during a busy time at the hospital.

Registered nurse John Crown, emergency department, who was named December's DAISY Award honoree. A hospital team member since 2021, Crown was recognized by a patient for his compassionate care and excellent bedside manner during the patient's hospital stay.

Michael Harris, psychiatric technician, who was presented with December's SuperStar of the Month Award. A team member for seven years, Harris was recognized for going above and beyond the expectations of his job when he assisted team members, without hesitation, when help was needed on a unit.

And, Jessica Mazzone, a certified nurse practitioner in Carroll Hospital's Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, who was presented with the hospital's November Provider of the Month Award for her exceptional patient care and teamwork skills. Mazzone has worked at the hospital for close to two years.


Community members and hospital employees are encouraged to nominate a hospital team member who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to his/her job in a variety of ways.
