Carroll Hospital Awards Team Members for their Exceptional Care

Carroll Hospital recently honored several team members with awards for their extraordinary care. The team members received the awards during separate presentations where they were recognized for going above and beyond their normal duties, which exemplified the hospital's SPIRIT values (spirit, performance, innovation, respect, integrity and teamwork). 

The following is a list of the Carroll Hospital team members who were honored.

Anita Rao, M.D., critical care, was named February's Physician of the Month for her exceptional care of a patient in the critical care unit.











Paul Smyser, M.D., emergency medicine, was presented with the April Physician of the Month award for his efficient care of a stroke patient in the emergency department.











Bereket Woldemariam, P.A.-C., adult hospitalist, was chosen as the March Provider of the Month for his compassion and expertise while following up with a patient and his family to ensure they were fully informed and comfortable with the patient's discharge care plan.











Registered nurse Sarah Lacoss, R.N., intermediate care unit, received the April Dragonfly Award for her compassionate care of a patient who was despondent due to the loss of a loved one.










Community members and hospital employees are encouraged to nominate a hospital team member who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to his/her job in a variety of ways.
