Carroll Hospital Auxiliary Announces Phantom Ball 2020

News

The Carroll Hospital Auxiliary will host a re-imagined, virtual 61st Annual Ball on Saturday, November 7. An aptly themed "Phantom Ball" will broadcast on Channel 19, Facebook and other media outlets.

The Auxiliary's traditional event of the season will be a no-go due to the pandemic. However, the idea of a "Phantom Ball" is designed to engage the community without putting anyone at risk, with fun and innovative ways to benefit participants and the critical needs of the hospital. Hospitals and clinicians are on the front lines saving lives and keeping us healthy as the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic. As healthcare providers adjust to these changes, they have never needed their communities' support more.

Proceeds from the Phantom Ball will benefit the construction projects currently underway at Carroll Hospital. As part of the hospital's seven-year strategic plan, Vision 2020, the Critical Care Unit (CCU) is being redesigned with larger, private patient rooms; a dedicated observation unit will be located next to the Emergency Department (ED); a new specialized pediatric care center, for patients under the age of 18 will be adjacent to the ED; plus more accessible and expanded dining options in the Overlook Café, which will relocate to the first floor. All, and more, are scheduled to be completed by 2022.

The medical staff at Carroll Hospital is the Lead Sponsor of the event. Consisting of more than 400 physicians, representing more than 40 medical specialties, the hospital's medical staff members have been long-time supporters of the Auxiliary and its many fundraising projects to enhance programs and services at Carroll Hospital.

"The medical staff has been a dedicated partner of the Auxiliary and their support this year is generating great excitement for members of the Auxiliary Ball committee as we are soliciting support for the Phantom Ball," said Barbara Gunther, chair of the event.

Sponsorships, virtual program advertisements and opportunities to donate toward the event are currently available. For more information, or to make a gift, please contact the Auxiliary at 410-871-7280 or visit CarrollAuxBall.org.
