Carroll Hospital raised $268,000 to benefit its programs and services during the 31st annual Carroll Golf Classic held at the Piney Branch Golf Club on September 24.

More than 200 golfers participated in the event to enjoy a day on the range and raise money for a good cause. To ensure a safe and healthy tournament, golfers socially distanced and enjoyed a full day of golfing and dining outdoors.

In keeping with tradition, raffle tickets were sold before the event, resulting in more than $20,000 being raised for Carroll Hospital. The grand prize was a two-night stay and spa package at Palm Marriott Singer Island. For 20 years, this raffle has been supported by many of the same community members and has raised more than $400,000 for Carroll Hospital.

In addition, the Wampler Cup was awarded during special presentations to the Auto Clinic of MD "”Nelson's Service Center team consisting of Scott Steinbach, Caleb Bryant, Ben Lukehart and Drew Outten with a score of 52. The Wampler Cup is named in honor of the late Atlee Wampler Jr., one of Carroll Hospital's founding fathers. It was a very competitive day of golf with the next three places going to the teams sponsored by Primary Residential Mortgage, Sturgill & Associates and Greenberg Gibbons each shooting a score of 57.

The Carroll Hospital Foundation extends special thanks to this year's Carroll Golf Classic chair Guy Sheetz and to DPR Construction, the Golf Classic Tournament Sponsor for the sixth consecutive year.
