Baltimore Child Abuse Center Joins LifeBridge Health
Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore Child Abuse Center (BCAC) announced today that it has joined LifeBridge Health.
Effective January 1, 2019, BCAC became a wholly owned subsidiary of LifeBridge Health and continues to serve the needs of the Baltimore community as a nationally recognized children's advocacy center. BCAC will retain its 501(c)(3) status and maintain its important work of helping children and families as a leader in best practices in preventing and responding to child abuse, trauma, violence and other "Adverse Childhood Experiences" (ACEs).

"We look forward to helping the LifeBridge Health organization grow its presence and we applaud its commitment to helping the communities' most vulnerable citizens throughout the LifeBridge Health network. Our BCAC team will remain in place, continuing to serve the entire Baltimore community, as we have for the past three decades."
In joining LifeBridge Health, BCAC taps the health system's resources and public health community, while BCAC provides expertise and professional staff to meet the growing crisis of ACEs and needs for victims of trauma and violence in and around the Greater Baltimore area.
Thanks to an investment of resources by LifeBridge Health, BCAC will grow its programming with new space for mental health, support services and wellness programs. This builds on LifeBridge Health's previous strategic partnership, which included support for BCAC's medical director, a pediatrician specializing in child abuse, who was faculty member at the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai.

BCAC will remain at its current location in the Old Goucher neighborhood of Baltimore and continue its co-location of services with Baltimore Child Protection Services, Baltimore City Police and the Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City.
