Baltimore, MD - LifeBridge Health recently announced that Amanda Shrout, DNP, RN, CCNS, CEN, EBP-C, CENP, has been appointed chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center. In this new role, Shrout will build on the legacy of nursing excellence at both institutions and lead her teams in taking patient care to the next level.
In the nearly 10 years she has been a part of the team at LifeBridge Health, Shrout has taken on roles of increasing responsibility, including clinical nurse specialist, director of clinical excellence, director of emergency departments and observation, and most recently, interim chief nursing officer.
“With our strong legacy of nursing excellence at Sinai and Grace, Amanda will help us build on this foundation as we create a high-reliability culture focused on safety, transparency, engagement and collaboration,” says Amy Shlossman, president, Sinai Hospital and Grace Medical Center and senior vice president, LifeBridge Health.
She adds, “Amanda has the heart of a nurse and a passion for leadership. She is a champion for nursing and our entire patient care team, and a collaborative, engaged partner with our physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical and non-clinical leaders in advancing safe, high-quality care.”
Throughout her career at LifeBridge Health, Shrout has spearheaded a number of high-priority initiatives, including the development of the clinical excellence team and new simulation center at Sinai, doubling the size of the emergency department and launching a new Outpatient Rapid Observation Center. She also led the development of 24/7 visitation at Sinai, advancing Sinai’s commitment to patient-centered care, and championed the development of competency-based nurse onboarding to bring more nurses to the units.
"I initially came to Sinai as a clinical nurse specialist in 2016 and had the privilege of building the clinical excellence department, with the vision of advancing high-quality, evidence-based care throughout the organization. I also had the joy of having my son, Jackson, here, and cherish the unique family culture that Sinai has. Over the last nearly 10 years, I’ve witnessed the unwavering commitment and collaboration of our teams, all dedicated to providing exceptional care to our community. It was that sense of teamwork and engagement that brought me to Sinai, and it is what continues to inspire my passion for serving here," says Shrout.
Shrout earned her doctorate of nursing practice degree from The Ohio State University, her master’s degree in nursing – acute and critical care from Liberty University and her bachelor’s degree in nursing from York College of Pennsylvania.
The Maryland Daily Record named Shrout among “Maryland’s 2024 Leading Women Under 40.”
