Neurointerventional radiology is a
subspecialty of radiology that uses imaging technology
to provide minimally invasive treatment for a wide range
of medical conditions. Also known as endovascular
treatment, this technique uses x-rays, MRIs and other
imaging methods to guide small catheters into the body.
Neurointerventional radiology is also used to insert
stents or coils or to inject medication.
Among many other things, neurointerventional radiology
is used to treat strokes, brain aneurysms and abnormal
blood vessels and seizures.
