Visitation
Effective Jan. 1, 2025
The below guidelines will go into effect at Sinai Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025. In the meantime, if you have questions about the policies or guidelines, please reach out to you or your loved one’s care team directly.
- Sinai Hospital offers open visitation to admitted patients within the hospital setting 24 hours/day, seven days/week, unless otherwise specified.
- One visitor may stay with a patient overnight, unless otherwise specified.
- Refer to Unit Specific Visiting Hours for additional details.
- Pediatric visitors should be accompanied by a supervising adult and not left unattended.
- The hospitalized patient may not be the supervising adult of the child.
- Generally, up to three visitors can be in a patient room, as space allows, during the day.
- Visitors should register at the following staffed entrances to Sinai Hospital (depending on time of day) including Blaustein Entrance, Children’s Hospital Entrance, Main Entrance, or Emergency Department information desks before proceeding to patient rooms or other care areas.
- After 8 p.m., Sinai Hospital visitors should be admitted through the Blaustein entrance only.
- Visitors are not permitted to bring dangerous or illicit property into the hospital. All visitors are subject to screening by clinical staff and / or security personnel and will be asked to leave if disruptive to clinical care and a healing environment.

Emergency Department
- The Sinai Hospital Emergency Department is currently under construction and visitation guidelines may change based on current space available for waiting rooms.
- Patients may have no more than two visitors at a time, including Pediatric patients.
- If the patient was involved in a traumatic injury, visitation may be restricted.
- For the Sinai Emergency Department Behavioral Health Unit, visitation hours are seven days a week, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. We permit no more than one visitor at a time, at the discretion of the patient care services leadership, with a decision based on patient and unit acuity
Adult Inpatient Units (medical/surgical and critical care units)
- Visitation is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Up to three visitors can be in a patient room, as space allows, during the day.
- One visitor may stay with a patient overnight, unless otherwise specified.
Labor and Delivery / Mother Baby
- Security will provide information about visitation guidelines upon check-in.
- Labor & delivery visitation is available 24/7.
- Mother Baby visiting hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Pediatrics, PICU and NICU
- Security will provide information about visitation guidelines upon check-in.
- General pediatric visiting hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
- NICU visitation for adults is available 24/7. Siblings between the ages of 5-12 are recommended to visit the NICU between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Inpatient Psychiatry
- Seven days a week, visitation hours are 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Pre-Operative and Procedural Areas (Cardiac Cath, Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology)
- Visitors must check in at the pre-operative desk for visitation guidelines.
- Visitors are not permitted in the actual OR and surgical areas.

From the Northwest
From Carroll County, Owings Mills or Reisterstown, take I-795 to I-695 East (Baltimore Beltway, Towson direction). Take exit 23 onto I-83 South (Jones Falls Expressway). Proceed for about three miles and take exit 10, Northern Parkway. Head west on Northern Parkway. At the second traffic signal, take a left onto West Belvedere Avenue. Sinai Hospital will be on your left.
From the North
From Pennsylvania and northern Baltimore suburbs, take I-83 South. At the junction with I-695 (Baltimore Beltway), enter I-695 heading west (Pikesville direction). Re-enter I-83 South at exit 23. Proceed for about three miles and take exit 10, Northern Parkway. Head west on Northern Parkway. At the second traffic signal, take a left onto West Belvedere Avenue. Sinai Hospital will be on your left.
From the West
From Howard County and points west, head east on I-70 or I-95 to I-695 East (Baltimore Beltway, Towson direction). Take exit 23 onto I-83 South (Jones Falls Expressway). Proceed for about three miles and take exit 10, Northern Parkway. Head west on Northern Parkway. At the second traffic signal, take a left onto West Belvedere Avenue. Sinai Hospital will be on your left.
From the East and Northeast
From Towson, Harford County and points farther north, take I-95 South to exit 64, I-695 West (Baltimore Beltway, Towson direction). Take exit 23 onto I-83 South (Jones Falls Expressway). Proceed for about three miles and take exit 10, Northern Parkway. Head west on Northern Parkway. At the second traffic signal, take a left onto West Belvedere Avenue. Sinai Hospital will be on your left.
From the South
From downtown Baltimore, take I-83 North (Jones Falls Expressway) to exit 10, Northern Parkway West. At the third traffic signal, take a left onto West Belvedere Avenue. Sinai Hospital will be on your left.

The main visitor lot is located off the main driveway from Belvedere Avenue to Sinai's main entrance.
