Threads of Care: Weaving Family Into Healing

At LifeBridge Health, caring bravely doesn’t end with our patients—it extends to the people who love them.
For three months, Aunt Terry stayed by her niece Paris’s side as she received treatment at The Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai. It was a long and difficult journey, but from the moment they arrived, their care team made sure they never felt alone.
That commitment to patient- and family-centered care was evident in both critical medical moments and small acts of kindness. When Aunt Terry realized one night that she had forgotten to pack pajamas, a team member quietly brought her a fresh pair so she could stay comfortable while keeping Paris company. And when her birthday came around, they turned an ordinary hospital stay into a celebration, creating a moment of unexpected joy.
“The level of dedication and compassion displayed by the entire team made us feel like the only patients in the hospital,” Aunt Terry shared. “We truly became part of an instant family.”
Now home, Paris continues her recovery with a family deeply grateful for the people who stood beside them.
“Your efforts not only made a significant difference in Paris’s recovery but also made our stay at the hospital more comfortable and reassuring,” Aunt Terry wrote.
In moments of uncertainty, it’s kindness, care and connection that turn a hospital stay into something more.
