Blogs

Deborah Graves, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital's new president and COO, discusses her vision for the facility.

Q: What is your assessment of Levindale?

Deborah: Levindale is a wonderful place. The people here are hardworking and passionate about providing care to patients and residents. As it is with any complicated entity, we certainly have some work to do in areas where we find process gaps, but the "bones" of the care delivery system are in great working order.

Q: What about Levindale has surprised you most so far?

Deborah: I cannot say I am surprised, but I can say how delighted I am that Levindale has superb customer satisfaction ratings - much higher than other health care entities! I am thrilled with how well we handle customer issues and that really shows in our satisfaction numbers.

Q: What is your vision for Levindale going forward?

Deborah: At Levindale, we will be working to create a transparent and supportive culture that drives engagement and performance. This foundation will allow us to add revenue and care-enhancing programs to what we currently do. I also see us celebrating and confirming our Jewish heritage and taking a larger part in community activities.

Q: Where do you see Levindale in two years? Five years?

Deborah: I see Levindale as the post-acute cornerstone for the LifeBridge Health system. It is important for us to understand where we stand within the medical community and to provide support to the communities around us. Levindale is uniquely set up to provide continuum of care services and to work with families as they try to piece together the acute and post-acute world.

Q: What is something most people do not know about you?

Deborah: Well, I am a very tech-y person and actually build my own computers. Does that make me geeky?
