Levindale Auxiliary Members Go Above and Beyond-Again

This is a guest post by Helene King, public relations specialist at LifeBridge Health.

Saying thank you to the members of the Levindale Auxiliary hardly seems like enough. They tirelessly give of their time and talents to make sure that the men and women who call Levindale home and depend on its medical team for specialized care can enjoy a fulfilling, meaningful stay.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Auxiliary, Levindale recently was able to install brand new audio-visual equipment and expand its donor wall, milestones that will benefit residents, patients, visitors and staff.

The Auxiliary held a fundraiser last October to help upgrade the AV equipment in Levindale's town center and museum exhibit area. People at Levindale can now enjoy movies, presentations, programs, games and more on a new retractable screen that displays video and images from a new LCD projector and is enhanced by a new sound system. New wireless microphones enable presenters and performers to move around more freely. In addition to more behind-the-scenes capabilities, the new equipment upgrades allow the therapeutic recreation department to send messages, events calendars and more right to residents' rooms. These items can also be put on a timer.

The Auxiliary also helped raise funds for the three-part extension to the donor wall, which is displayed in the mail lobby of the town center.  The donor wall artist, David Bacharach, is installing the new panels. The wall was created as a beautiful, lasting tribute to individuals and families who want to acknowledge someone special, celebrate a simcha (a Hebrew term used to describe a happy occasion) or memorialize a loved one with specially engraved plaques.

The Levindale Auxiliary has been a truly integral part of Levindale since 1899. Its members dedicate themselves to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly and disabled beyond excellent medical care by focusing on the emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of residents, patients and their families. They also support clients of the Belvedere and Pikesville Adult Services Centers.

If you would like to get involved, you can call the Levindale Auxiliary office at 410-601-2378 or send an email to levindaleauxiliary@lifebridgehealth.org. You may also order contribution gift cards for any occasion.
