J.E.D.I. Champion of the Month: Sha-Ron Banks
The J.E.D.I. office would like to recognize Sha-Ron Banks for her contribution to LifeBridge Health’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. Sha-Ron treats others with respect. She always tries to understand where someone else is coming from and always says, "their perception is their reality." Having a manager that puts herself in your shoes goes a long way. No matter what your difference is. She hears you out, respects and appreciates you for who you are.
Q1. How long have you been with LifeBridge Health and what is your current role?
A. I have been with LifeBridge Health for 11 years in January. I am currently an office manager of Carroll Health Group Cardiology.
Q2. You bring so much passion into the work you do — what motivates you?
A. I am motivated by my team, our patients and most importantly, my life experience. I always treat people the way that I want to be treated and the way I would like my family members to be treated. I treat everyone as an individual. I haven’t always had that experience, but I wish I did, and that tells me that there may be someone else that feels the same way. I don’t know their back stories or what they have been through in life, but if I can say hello, make you smile or at least show some form of empathy, then I have accomplished a daily goal that I set for myself every day.
Q3. Since starting at LifeBridge Health, what have you found most rewarding?
A. The most rewarding part of being a LifeBridge Health team member is having the courage and freedom to CARE BRAVELY. I think that happens when you treat people like they matter, and when you are sincere doing so. I try to help in whatever way I can, and if I can’t provide direct help, I exhaust all my resources trying to do so.
