J.E.D.I. Champion of the Month: Hakeem Clark
The J.E.D.I. office would like to recognize Hakeem Clark for his contribution to LifeBridge Health’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. Hakeem is dedicated to the Black Culture Employee Resource Group (BCERG) and has helped this group grow tremendously in the past few years.
Hakeem has developed outstanding projects for BCERG including the first ERG to host a panel discussion, a mentorship program and a variety of events for both black history month and Juneteenth.
Q1. How long have you been with LifeBridge Health and what is your current role?
A: I have been with LifeBridge Health for 12 years in various roles. I am now the executive director of LifeBridge Health & Fitness (LBH&F) and director of retail. I have been chairing the BCERG group for four and a half years.
Q2. You bring so much passion into the work you do — what motivates you?
A. What motivates me in everything I do is to effect change. Sometimes that might be mentoring and helping grow team members, problem solving ways to make LBH&F successful or helping the J.E.D.I. department positively affect our team members and the community that surrounds us.
Q3. Since starting at LifeBridge Health, what have you found most rewarding?
A. The most rewarding thing about working for LifeBridge Health is having the opportunities for my own personal and professional growth. I can impact things bigger than myself while finding the limits to my own abilities.
