J.E.D.I. Champion of the Month: Dowan Reaves
The J.E.D.I. office would like to recognize Dowan Reaves for her contribution to LifeBridge Health’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. Dowan goes above and beyond for all of the patients that she works with in our community.
One of the patients in her program is legally blind. Dowan spent a lot of time researching other supports for this patient. She was able to coordinate to get a free cane, a free braille telephone - all things that this patient needed for her everyday life. She assisted the patient in completing an application for a lifelong program that will provide support to this patient. Because of this patient, Dowan took the initiative to enroll herself in an American Sign Language class, to better communicate with them. She continues to do amazing work to promote equity and inclusion at LifeBridge Health.
