The J.E.D.I. office would like to recognize Anita Pinkney for her contribution to LifeBridge Health’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts. Her important work at Levindale and commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment at LifeBridge Health hasn't gone unnoticed and we want to celebrate your leadership in this space. Anita is a fierce advocate for the rights of all our patients and is eager to ensure that all are seen and heard. She is always advocating for inclusivity and consideration for a variety of input when decisions are made. Anita is a passionate advocate and continues to show initiative, dedication and drive and goes above and beyond to promote equity and inclusion at LifeBridge Health.

Q1. How long have you been with LifeBridge Health and what is your current role?

A: First, I have tremendous gratitude for you recognizing me for serving others with dignity and respect. I am humbled to be thought of for this recognition. I have been with Levindale for 18 years as a contractor to permanent team member. I started here serving as an Occupational Therapist, Rehab Manager, Rehab Clinical Education Specialist and transitioned to Manager for Patient Experience.

Q2. You bring so much passion into the work you do — what motivates you?

A: I am motivated by a love to serve others, specifically our most vulnerable, less informed and under-served community of patients and residents.

Q3. Since starting at LifeBridge Health, what have you found most rewarding?

A: Since starting, I have found LifeBridge Health a rewarding place to work due to its flexibility and opportunities to serve the community around us. LifeBridge Health also extends the ability to provide outreach through volunteerism, mentorship and partnering with businesses to engage in wellness at all levels and across the system and to connect with the community. We thrive when our communities are engaged. That's rewarding.

Q4. When it comes to JE.D.I., what are some of your hopes and aspirations for the LifeBridge Health community?

A: My hopes and aspirations for the LifeBridge Health community are vast, however I will include a few here that resonate with me from the J.E.D.I collaborative:

  • An organizational culture where everyone can succeed, every voice matters and normalizing the hard conversations.
  • Fostering an inclusive and trusting culture.
  • Voices of our marginalized communities are amplified in all conversations and decisions and our services are available and accessible to those who most need them.

Additionally, as in Star Wars the Jedi Order were guardians of peace and justice in the universe guided by The Force, as we too should be. May the Force be with us all.
