Sybil Pentsil, M.D., MPH, appointed Chief Diversity Officer at LifeBridge Health

Baltimore "“ LifeBridge Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Sybil Pentsil, M.D., M.P.H., pediatrics, to the role of Chief Diversity Officer. In this position, Dr. Pentsil oversees efforts to grow resources around diversity, equity and inclusion (D, E & I) throughout the LifeBridge Health system, a focal point of the organization's mission to Care Bravely for the diverse community it serves.

Dr. Pentsil works with LifeBridge Health leaders to develop strategies to further enhance diversity, equity and inclusion within the system and incorporate this goal in how team members engage with patients receiving care.

Dr. Pentsil has a distinguished career in public health, inpatient pediatrics and leadership along with a breadth of skill, global health work, medical education and strong dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion work.

At LifeBridge Health, Dr. Pentsil is an active member of LifeBridge Health's D, E & I Council and the Black Culture Employee Resource Group. She was also instrumental in spearheading the Graduate Medical Education Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Awareness Committee at Sinai Hospital.

On a national level, she is a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Equity Matters Forum and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Confronting Racism Taskforce.

Dr. Penstil's appointment is one of LifeBridge Health's many efforts to promote a visible commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization. Other initiatives include the system's Employee Resource Group, which holds a range of programs and activities to raise diversity awareness, and needs-based Gap-Analysis to identify key areas of opportunity for diversity, equity and inclusion.
