The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine at Sinai Hospital provides comprehensive endocrine consultative services to patients with a wide variety of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including:

• thyroid diseases
• diabetes
• lipid disorders
• osteoporosis and calcium disorders
• hypogonadism in men and women
• androgenic disorders in women
• diseases of the pituitary and adrenal glands

Sinai's Endocrinology staff of board-certified physicians and nurses provide state-of-the-art care. Diagnostic and treatment services include:

• thyroid ultrasound and biopsy
• radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer
• bone densitometry (DEXA scanning)
• continuous glucose monitoring assessment (CGMS) in patients with diabetes
• insulin pump therapy
• diabetes education

Physician Referrals

Physicians throughout the region are encouraged to refer patients to the division for consultation or treatment. Staff members work in close collaboration with referring physicians to ensure continuity of the highest level of care.
