Welcome to the Department of Surgery at Sinai Hospital!
The full history of Surgery at Sinai (the hospital was founded in 1866) mirrors that of American surgery: colorful personalities, excellent clinical care, bedside and laboratory research, surgical education, academic collaboration, advanced technology, minimally-invasive techniques, evidence-based care, and compassion.
Comprised of over 100 full-time and voluntary surgeons and over 30 mid-level providers in ten Divisions, the Department of Surgery is experiencing explosive growth. Our surgeons lead the Level II Trauma Center and fully accredited, independent Surgery Residency Program. The future of our department will embody the growth of new programs (including the world’s only Center for Geriatric Surgery), nationally recognized clinical and investigative work, and an unrelenting drive for excellence.
The compassion and colorful personalities will remain.
