RETURN! Brain Injury Community Re-Entry Program

RETURN! Brain Injury ProgramsRETURN! is a day treatment program that serves individuals aged 18 years or older who have sustained a brain injury through stroke, aneurysm, traumatic injury, or other neurological condition. The goals of the program are to help clients return to work, school, or responsibilities at home (e.g. cooking, household management, finances) and regain greater independence in daily functioning. It offers a structured and consistent weekly schedule of group and individual therapies developed to improve mobility, cognition, self-care, and home and community living skills resulting from brain injury.

RETURN! is led by experienced clinicians who create a unique approach to brain injury rehabilitation. Individuals in the program are encouraged to practice lost skills and learn ways to overcome injury-related limitations. A group setting is provided where clients can utilizes these learned strategies to better remember, understand, plan, organize, speak, and socially interact with each other.

Individual speech and language, physical, occupational, and psychological therapies are provided based on the client’s specific deficits. As appropriate, a pre-vocational specialist addresses return-to-work goals. With input from the client, their family, and the RETURN! treatment team, a detailed, personalized discharge plan is developed to ease the transition back to the community and return to a meaningful lifestyle.
