| Description and Goals of Course: |
This elective will allow you to participate as a team member along with pediatric house staff in all clinical activities carried out on a busy 21 bed inpatient service. Responsibilities are that of a PL-1 although the number of patients assigned may be less than the PL-1. Work rounds are held daily and attending rounds are held three mornings a week. There are daily noon conferences and weekly grand rounds. The goal of this rotation is to improve general clinical skills in pediatrics and is meant for the 4th year student who plans to pursue a career in pediatrics. |

Prerequisite include a medical school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, a USMLE Step 1 score of 85 or better, completion of a pediatric clerkship, be in the 3 or fourth year of medical school and plan to apply to the Pediatric Residency Program at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Inc. Each student should check with their own institution to see if this rotation will satisfy their institution's subinternship requirements. |
