The Neonatal Transport Program stabilizes and transports sick newborns from a referring facility to Sinai's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or NICU. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the transport team includes a neonatal nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, paramedic and emergency medical technician.
The transport program also provides the referring hospital with immediate feedback from the attending neonatologist at Sinai. When no longer considered critical, patients are transferred back to the referring hospital.
