Epic Room -New patients to the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai Hospital visit the Epic Room where the ARK 10000 measures farsightedness and nearsightedness. The ARK 10000 also has the 3D Wave, which generates corneal curvature and corneal topography. Those measurements are useful when patients are fit for contact lenses, have unexplained astigmatism, keratoconus, protrusion of the corena, or irregular corneal surfaces. |

Visual Field Room - Two different vision field tests are completed as part of the diagnostic process at the Krieger Eye Institute. The Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer is an automated machine used in the diagnosis and the tracking of progression of glaucoma. Sciton Room - With two board-certified plastic surgeons on staff, the Krieger Eye Institute is able to perform cosmetic procedures. The Sciton laser, shown here, is used for hair removal, skin resurfacing treatments and lesion removal procedures.

Contact Lens Room - One-stop shopping – The contact lens room houses a multitude of different types of lens, including soft, gas permeable, bifocal and multi-focal styles. The Krieger Eye Institute has most prescriptions in stock and the ability to order specialty cosmetic lens.

IOL Master - Technicians at the Krieger Eye Institute use a state-of-the-art device, the IOL Master, to determine the length of the eye. The device also measures the curvature of the cornea and the depth of the anterior chamber to determine the power of intraocular lens implant to use during surgery.

Peds Room - Specially designed with younger patients in mind, the Krieger Eye Institute's pediatrics exam room is home to the SMART Plus, a computerized visual system, which measures stereoposis, alignment of the eyes, while children watch movies.

Photography Room - Located in the photography room at the Krieger Eye Institute at Sinai are a variety of devices, such as the HRT II, OCT, Specular Microscope, Topcon Fundus Camera and Zeiss Slit Lamp Camera, which yield photos and colored maps of the layers of various ocular structures in the anterior segment and posterior portion of the eye.
