Holly L. Williams, M.D., joined The Children's Hospital at Sinai as Chief of Pediatric Surgery in 2007. Dr. Williams is board-certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery.
After completing graduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Dr. Williams earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, where she also undertook residency training in general surgery. Dr. Williams received specialized fellowship training in pediatric surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
As an attending physician in the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, Dr. Williams developed interests in minimally invasive surgery and neonatal surgery and was named director of Pediatric Trauma. She continued her practice of pediatric surgery at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, before returning to California as Chief of Pediatric Surgery at the Kaiser Oakland Medical Center and Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at UCSF.
An accomplished practitioner, clinical researcher and medical instructor, Dr. Williams has earned numerous awards and honors. Consumers' Research Council of America named her one of America's Top Surgeons between 2002-2010. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association and other professional groups. Dr. Williams holds a faculty appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Maryland.
