Stiff Knee

This 35-year-old man had a stiff knee resulting from multiple previous operations that were performed to correct a fracture nonunion. Although his bone healed, he was left with a completely unbending knee, as shown in this side view radiograph.

After Judet quadricepsplasty (surgical release of the tight thigh muscle and release of the scar tissue in the knee), the patient regained 90 degrees of flexion.
