Malunited Tibial Fracture

Malunited Tibial fracture before surgery Malunited Tibial fracture after surgery
This patient came to us with an old break of the tibia, which had healed in an angulated position. Radiograph obtained before correction shows both angular and translational deformities. After correction with an Ilizarov device, alignment was restored.

ICLL surgeons have pioneered analysis of complex deformities. The above graphics show a complex angulation-translation deformity, before and after correction.

Malunited Tibial Fracture Corrected with Spatial Frame

Complex malunion of an old tibial fracture with bowing in two planes plus rotational malalignment.

Treatment with the Taylor spatial frame applied to a deformed bone, before and after correction (above).
This frame permits simultaneous correction of complex deformities with less need to make frame adjustments in the clinic. (courtesy of J. Charles Taylor).
