Ilizarov and Research Fellowship organization, policies, and procedures
The Limb Reconstruction Fellowship Program provides postgraduate medical education in a unique orthopedic surgical subspecialty that includes the in-depth study, prevention, and treatment of limb length discrepancies, nonunions, malunions, and congenital and posttraumatic limb deformities by medical, physical, and surgical methods. Specifically, the Program is based on but not limited to techniques derived from the science of distraction osteogenesis. Methodologies used in the Program are not limited to any specific device or apparatus but rather encompass the full gamut of orthopaedic fixation materials, including plates, intramedullary rods, and external fixators, in the study and subsequent treatment and correction of these deformities.
