Ravens Lose, but Baby Wins

Sinai Hospital Awards $3,000 Savings Bond to Baby Girl
|
Though the Ravens lost yesterday’s AFC championship game, one baby girl born at The BirthPlace at Sinai is a big winner.
That’s because the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children’s Hospital at Sinai is giving her a $3,000 savings bond because she was the first baby born after the start of the Ravens-Patriots AFC championship game.
Shaina and Gershom Segal are the baby’s proud parents. Baby girl Segal tipped the scale at 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and measured 21.3 inches in length. She was born at 10:41 p.m. on Sunday, January 22.
“I certainly wasn’t anticipating winning an award while my wife was in labor yesterday,” says Gershom Segal. “However, now that our daughter is here, it’s a wonderful surprise. We appreciate the children’s hospital’s involvement in the community, and wish it continued success in providing its patients with dedicated care.”
The Segals, who found out about the contest last week, delivered all five of their children at Sinai.
